Course Summary

English/Language Arts is the study of language through the interpretation and analysis of texts. You will examine a collection of diverse, authentic texts and analyze the techniques used by their authors. You will then apply that learning to your own writing, drawing on a wide range of authorial techniques to support your own development as an author and thinker. In English 9, Semester A, you will analyze techniques in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction texts to analyze thematic connections and inform your own writing and in-class discussions
